Mystic River Ambulance was originally founded in 1948 as Mystic Hoxie Ambulance when a group of firefighters from the B.F. Hoxie Engine Co., in Mystic, CT pooled resources to purchase a hearse-style ambulance. In 1981, Mystic Hoxie Ambulance broke away from the Hoxie Engine Co., becoming the Mystic River Ambulance Association. Since that time, our volunteer and paid EMTs have provided 24/7 emergency medical care to the Mystic area.
